The Sheppard House at 601 North Poplar is an 1898 Queen Anne. Per Friends of Fourth Ward, it is one of only a few homes on the walking tour still in its original site and orientation — most Fourth Ward historic houses were moved or re-oriented during the 1970s restoration. The Sheppard's interior and exterior appointments are reported in remarkable condition.
Notable features per FOFW: a slate roof, trim under the eaves, stained-glass windows, and many late-Victorian touches.
