Stop 30 — 420 North Poplar Street

Notable: Moved to the neighborhood from Mooresville; rebuilt after arson

The house at 420 North Poplar has an unusual history even by Fourth Ward standards. Per Friends of Fourth Ward, it was moved to the neighborhood from a site in Mooresville, renovated in 1980, burned to the ground by an arsonist, and then rebuilt to the original specifications.

The rebuild-to-original-specifications note is worth flagging: it means the current structure is a faithful reconstruction of a specific house, not a new-build that replaced it.
